Meet the Owner

So how does a former construction contractor brew coffee? Easy, he follows his brother's advice, buys Bertolino's coffee, and makes his first 8 oz., two-shot Americano, nice and hot. The story is almost that simple. Founded in 1994, Bertolino's coffee stands as a 24-hour testament to the fact that mothers are special. Apparently, the original founder, Steve Gebaugher, couldn't have thought of a better, more lasting tribute to his own mother than to open an espresso bar and name it after her. When he sold it a year later to me in 1995, the name remained. So here we are, still pulling shots, and having a lot of fun. Although we spend a lot of time making sure we get the coffee right every time, we're not about the mochas, we're about people. My name is Willie Easley, and on behalf of my wife Gretchen and our six children, we would like to share with you our love for God, our love for our employees, and especially our love for the customers that daily sip our coffee and devour our scones, bagels and muffins.

In the truest sense of the word, this is a family business. In fact, my best employees are also my children. Whether they are twenty-three, or seven, they find joy working here. Bertolino's is a blessing in our lives. It is a business, a classroom, and a ministry. To the children Gretchen and I continue to home school, this shop becomes an opportunity to help keep inventory or count the tips at the end of the day. For me personally, it is my chance to share the success that comes from knowing God. It offers the opportunity to share with others and to suuport projects of interest to me including an orphanage in Morocco near where we live when we are there.
